Respect for Life
Please join us as we begin an Election Novena prepared by Priests for Life.
For nine weeks before Election Day, Priests for Life calls upon believers to participate in the “Election Novena” by saying the following prayer each day up until Election Day on Nov. 4th.

O God, we acknowledge you today as Lord,
Not only of individuals, but of nations and governments.
We thank you for the privilege
Of being able to organize ourselves politically
And of knowing that political loyalty
Does not have to mean disloyalty to you.
We thank you for your law,
Which our Founding Fathers acknowledged
And recognized as higher than any human law.
We thank you for the opportunity that this election
year puts before us,
To exercise our solemn duty not only to vote,
But to influence countless others to vote,
And to vote correctly.
Lord, we pray that your people may be awakened.
Let them realize that while politics is not their salvation,
Their response to you requires that they be politically active.
Awaken your people to know that they are
not called to be a sect fleeing the world
But rather a community of faith renewing the world.
Awaken them that the same hands lifted up to you in prayer
Are the hands that pull the lever in the voting booth;
That the same eyes that read your Word
Are the eyes that read the names on the ballot,
And that they do not cease to be Christians
When they enter the voting booth.
Awaken your people to a commitment to justice
To the sanctity of marriage and the family,
To the dignity of each individual human life,
And to the truth that human rights begin when human lives begin,
And not one moment later.
Lord, we rejoice today
That we are citizens of your kingdom.
May that make us all the more committed
To being faithful citizens on earth.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ARISE is a parish-centered process of spiritual renewal. It is led by lay persons in small faith-sharing groups that encourage participants to develop a closer relationship with Christ, grow in community, and reach out in service to others.

Opportunity to participate: Small groups meet weekly for 90 minutes in homes or parish facilities for 6 week sessions. Sessions occur in fall and winter.
Contact: Receptionist 978-686-4050

The purpose is to enable participants to become familiar with the Bible, its richness, its depth, and its pathway to the Lord, and to grow in relationship with God.

Opportunity to participate: Small groups, 6-20 people, meet weekly for 1½ hours.

The full name is Cursillo de Christiandad, meaning “short course in Christianity.” It is a weekend away that gives those who attend a new understanding of basic Christian truths and imparts a desire to serve the Church. ULTREYA is the monthly evenings of prayer and faith-sharing that follow-up after the initial weekend.

Opportunity to participate: Monthly Sunday evenings are opened to all and are combined with St. Augustine's in Andover.

Yearly, all the churches of North Andover come together for an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service. Throughout the year the local clergy convene to discuss ways of promoting Christian values. St. Michael's is also a member of Communities Together (formerly Greater Lawrence Council of Churches), whose purpose is to encourage unity in the Body of Christ.

Opportunity to participate: As needed for special events. Being an ambassador to Communities Together requires attendance at quarterly meetings.

Jesus tells us that Mary chose the better part when she sat attentively at His feet to listen to Him. (Luke 10:30- 42) Eucharistic Adoration is a wonderful way to let go of the busyness of our lives, to sit in the quiet presence of Jesus living in the Blessed Sacrament, to praise and thank Him, to listen attentively as He speaks, to pray for ourselves, our families, our friends, our parish, our world.

Opportunity to participate: Adorers are needed for ½ to 1-hour weekly shifts, 5:00AM ‘til midnight. However, anyone is welcome to drop in for a visit with Jesus, 7AM-8PM midweek or 7AM-4PM Sat/Sun.
Contact: Receptionist 978-686-4050

Our goal is to welcome new parishioners and those struggling with life’s challenges into the fullness of parish life, so that they will be nourished by the Body of Christ in the Eucharist, in the Word of God, and in their fellow parishioners.

Opportunity to participate: Flexible!

The Rosary Ministry is a wonderful opportunity to teach the rosary, its mysteries and prayers, to the students of our parish and school, as well as our candidates for Confirmation. They also lead us in prayer before the 9 AM weekday Mass and 8 AM Saturday Mass. The Rosary Ministry also visits our local nursing homes to pray the rosary with our cherished elderly and infirmed friends.

This weekly meeting is an opportunity for fellowship as we support each other on our Christian walk. We discuss a reading from the upcoming Sunday Mass and conclude with intercessory prayers. We have a lot of laughs while sharing coffee, donuts, and Christ. We average about 28 men of all ages each week, and boast a membership of about 75.

Opportunity to participate: You are welcomed anytime. We meet on Saturdays, 7:00 - 8:00 AM in the Parish Hall or on Mondays, at 7:00-8:00PM in the Pastoral Center.
